New Release ~ Review ~ Out Of Time ~ Beth Flynn

OUT OF TIME is the HIGHLY ANTICIPATED sequel to NINE MINUTES where Grizz, Kit & Grunt’s gritty tale continues!  You aren’t going to want to miss this!

Out of Time is book two in a series. It is not a standalone novel. I highly recommend that you read my first novel, Nine Minutes, to be able to understand the background stories of the main characters. There are many twists and turns in both stories that can best be connected if read consecutively.

Although I do answer all of the outstanding questions from Nine Minutes, there is more to this story, and some readers may consider it a cliffhanger. If you do not like cliffhangers, you may want to wait until the third novel is released in 2016.

They thought with his execution it would all be over.

They were wrong.

The leader of one of South Florida’s most notorious and brutal motorcycle gangs has been put to death by lethal injection. Days later, his family and friends should have been picking up the pieces, moving on. Instead, they’ve been catapulted into a world so twisted and dangerous even the most ruthless among them would be stunned to discover the tangled web of deception, not only on the dangerous streets of South Florida but all the way to the top.

In this gripping follow-up novel to Nine Minutes, Out of Time takes readers from the sun-drenched flatlands of 1950s Central Florida to the vivid tropical heat of Fort Lauderdale to the halls of Florida’s Death Row as we finally learn the gritty backstory of Jason “Grizz” Talbot and the secret he spent his life trying to conceal.

Not even Grizz’s inner circle knows his full story—the tragedy that enveloped his early life, the surprise discovery that made him the government’s most wanted and most feared, and the depths of his love for Ginny, the tenderhearted innocent he’d once abducted and later made his wife.

Once Grizz’s obsession and now the mother of his child, Ginny has spent years grieving the man she’d first resisted and then came to love. Now remarried to Tommy, a former member of the gang, the pair have spent more than a decade trying desperately to live a normal existence far from the violent, crime-ridden world they’d once carved out on the edge of the Florida Everglades. For Tommy, especially, the stakes are high. Desperately in love with Ginny for years, he’s finally living his dream: married to the woman he never thought he could have. But even with the façade of normalcy—thriving careers, two beautiful children, and a genuinely happy and loving marriage—they can’t seem to put the past behind them. Every time they turn around, another secret is revealed, unraveling the very bonds that hold them together.

And with Grizz finally put to death, now Ginny has learned secrets so dark, so evil she’s not even sure she can go on.

Will these secrets tear their love to pieces? And how far will Grizz go to protect what he still considers his, even from beyond the grave?

Wow! Just wow!! I don’t even know what to say about this book other than wow!! I’m not sure that will be enough to justify my blogger job of reviewing though so I’ll try and put into words what I just read.

To say I was desperate to read this book is an understatement I was in bits after nine minutes and desperate to get over the cliffhanger and try and figure out what the hell I just read, well it didn’t quite go to plan. I was even more confused throughout this book, the twists and turns had my stomach in knots and my brain all muddled and you know what? This girl (whose favourite books are easy romantic, best friend reads) loved every word of it! The way Beth writes draws you in and you can’t help but become engrossed in the world she’s created, just when you think you’ve sussed out what’s happening something else is added to the mix. The way in which the whole story is intricately linked amazed me, there is so much detail and so many curveballs and pieces to the puzzle that I’m still wondering how the hell it fit together so perfectly.

We start the book knowing Kit has remarried and Grizz is dead, the story is told from several different viewpoints and I will say I worried I was going to miss something pivotal it’s definitely one of those books you want to talk about with people and a book in which different people will pick up different things. It should come with one of those spark notes text books you used to get at school that decoded everything and broke down what each chapter represents. The way the book was written from different people and different years confused me at first but it all made perfect sense in the end.

After reading nine minutes and experiencing the biggest book hangover of last year, I knew what I was getting myself in to, I was fully prepared to be engrossed in the ‘club’ world and be shocked by what I was about to read what I was not prepared for is the feelings I’d have toward Grizz. I didn’t particularly like him in Nine minutes, I didn’t doubt his love for kit but I couldn’t get over what he did to her and how he took her away especially his fascination with an underage girl. All that was forgotten a few chapters in to out of time, I was totally team Grizz, everything he’s done had a reasoning and he totally redeemed himself throughout. I have a huge soft spot for Grunt though and it was hard seeing him almost be second best throughout, one minute I’d be #TeamGrizz the next it was #TeamGrunt. The feelings this book evoked were epic, I enjoyed every twist and turn but nothing prepared me for that last sentence, wow!

5 HUGE mind blowing stars!

Alexa is not as blessed in the boob department as Shelby or me and it’s not really a necessity for her to wear a bra. Today she’s braless; the chill in the air has her nipples displayed at their full glory.

‘Thank God for that,’ she says, rubbing her arms and climbing into the back seat. ‘I thought you were never going to get here. I’ve been standing outside waiting for fifteen minutes, I’m bloody freezing.’

‘Yep, I can see how cold you are Lex.’ Smirking, I point at her nipples.

‘Bugger off, bitch. It’s thirty degrees in Marbella and I refuse to carry a jacket onto the plane,’ she says as she tries to push her erect nipples back into hiding. It doesn’t work and only fuels my laughter.

‘Lex, have you ever thought about getting them pierced?’ Shelby asks, her voice heavy with curiosity. ‘I’ve been involved in photo shoots with models who have gorgeous tits with nipple piercings, now that I come to think about it, they were all quite small like yours. Nice and perky though.’ She adds with an air of mischief.

Shelby likes to swing both ways. From an early age she knew she was bi-sexual and has never been afraid to show it. She says that variety is the spice of life, and not to knock it until you’ve tried it. I agree with her wholeheartedly–when it comes down to trying a balti rather than a korma. I’ve even pushed the boat out and gone for a rogan josh. But, pussy–versus cock? No thanks. I’ll pass on that one.

Alexa doesn’t reply for a moment, but she’s unable to hide her cheeky grin before she finally replies.

‘To be honest I have thought about it, but I’d like to go one better than nipple piercings. If I decided to pierce an intimate body part for the purpose of stimulation then it would have to be my clit. How about it girls?’ she asks with a gleam. ‘We could all get one, together this weekend in Marbella.’

‘Are you shitting me?’ I ask incredulously as I squeeze my thighs together. ‘No-one and I repeat no–fucking–one is sticking a needle through my lady-boner!’

Two minutes later we pull into Heathrow and exit our taxi at terminal three in fits of laughter.

‘Come on girls,’ I say. ‘Let’s go break the rules.

Wow what a debut! I’ll firstly start by saying I’m not usually a big fan of novella’s unless they’re a spin off from a series I love. I would rather get my teeth into a full length story as I feel it’s hard to connect with characters from novellas as you’re in their heads for such a short time. I think that’s what surprised me the most about this book, I connected with Tash almost instantly the banter between the girls made it easy to fall into their lives and feel a part of the world, so massive props to Kelsey for changing the way I feel towards novellas with her magic words. We meet Tash, Shelby and Lex as they’re about to embark on a no holds barred girls holiday, they’re in search of serious fun in the sun and hopefully a hot guy or two along the way, queue Tash’s super hot fireman James. Knowing how Tash left her boss (ingenious position to leave him in by the way) I was routing for her to get together with James, he was just the tonic she needed the chemistry between the two of them was electric. I loved all the British nods along the way the story felt very real and reminded me of nights out with my friends, it felt so refreshing to read a book that was as much about friendships as it was about hot guys. It was a feel good, girl power read for sure that had me laughing a lot! The downside to this book? I’m a married mum of 3 who’s now desperate to relive her youth and go on a girls holiday, great debut Kelsey, bring on book two!

Review ~ Jetson ~ C.A Ellis

jestonJetson is the second book in the Entwined in the Vine series, although it can be read as a stand alone – There’s a group of Brit guys in a band living the dream, where dreams come true (for them anyway)- there are girls, parties and well, anything they could want to be fair! When they get home from acing the US tour, the UK fanbase has exploded!

We get to meet Jet, the leader of the band, who is hotter than hot. Quite early on we get to see a different side to Jet than you would expect from a highly lusted after rockstar, when he bumps into Dolly and her son Rafe (so freakin cute) at the skate park. Straight away we see a chemistry between Jet and Dolly which leaves the reader eager to see where it could lead. The plus side for Jet is that Dolly has no idea that Jet’s a famous rockstar, so he knows she likes him for him, not for his fame, money or status,

Things move at lightening speed for Jet and Dolly and with her having Rafe to consider in any of her decisions where Jet’s concerned, things get pretty complicated for them pretty quickly. Just when you think they will overcome everything and stand strong together another plot twist is thrown in keeping the reader on the edge of their seat. The humour injected into the story at times actually had me giggling away to myself. There was enough angst and build up that as a reader you find yourself flicking through the pages to find out how things are dealt with between the main couple. So many swoony moments from Jet too.

Overall I really enjoyed the story, I think the only niggle for me were their nicknames for each other- but who am i to judge?

I definitely recommend this book with 4 rocking stars ❤

Blog Tour ~ New Release ~ Review ~ Revived ~ Samantha Towle

Revived Release Day

Happy Release Day to Samantha Towle and her new book REVIVED! This is Leandro’s story! Read a sneak peek below and make sure to enter the giveaway! Good luck!

India Harris didn’t have the best start in life. Abandoned as a baby, she and her twin brother, Kit, spent their lives in foster care, only having each other to rely on. Then, at a young age, a relationship with the wrong man left India pregnant. Wanting to give her son the life she never had, she put herself through school and graduated with honors.

Now, at the age of thirty, she’s a highly respected therapist.

At the top of his game as a Formula One driver, Leandro Silva had everything—until an accident on the track left him staring death in the face. After enduring twelve months of physical therapy, Leandro is now physically able to race, but his mind is keeping him from the track. Frustrated and angry, Leandro’s days and nights are filled with limitless alcohol and faceless women.

Entering the last year of his contract, he knows he has to race again, or he’ll lose everything he spent his life working for. Forced into therapy to get his life back, Leandro finds himself in the office of Dr. India Harris.

Falling for his uptight therapist is not part of Leandro’s plan.

Having unethical feelings for her patient, the angry Brazilian race car driver, is not part of India’s plan.

But what if the wrong person is the only person who is right?

My eyes move to the magazines on the table. A sports mag is peeking out from under the fashion mags. Leaning forward, I pull it out, instantly wishing I hadn’t.

On the cover of the magazine is a picture of me with the caption, What the Bad Side of Formula 1 Looks Like.

So, now, I’m the bad side of Formula 1. Good to know.

I already know what the media say about me. How I’ve turned from a great racer into a drunk and a whore.

They’re not wrong on the whore part. Well, whore is a bit harsh. I don’t charge for my services. And I wouldn’t say I’m a drunk. I just like to drink—a lot.

I shouldn’t read the article. I know this, but the sadistic part of me has me turning those pages.

Finding the article, eyes scanning the text, I pick out the usual shit.

Why is Silva no longer racing? Physically, he’s healthy. Is it mental problems? Fear over racing because of his accident? Is that why he drinks—drowning his misery in alcohol? Such a shame to see a once great driver fall from grace so dramatically.

Frustration and rage grip my chest like a vise.

Fuck this. I don’t need this shit.

Even though I can’t race, it’s not like I actually need to.

I don’t need to race. I just need to drink and fuck. That’s all I need now. All I will ever need.

I’m a liar and a chickenshit. And that’s why I’m sitting in the waiting room to see a therapist.

Maybe I am beyond help.

Tossing the magazine back onto the table, I get to my feet, ready to leave this place, just as the door opens, revealing the epitome of what I could really do with screwing right now.

My eyes trail up the tanned, toned legs to the fitted pencil skirt that I would happily hitch up to see the magnificent pussy that I bet lies beneath. A pale-pink blouse is tucked into that skirt, covering what looks like a fantastically sized pair of tits. Silky blonde hair sits on her shoulders. Hair that I would enjoy getting my hands all tangled in while I fuck those bright red lips of hers, enjoying seeing that lipstick smeared all over my cock.

My dick pulses in my jeans, more than ready to proposition her with the offer.

“Mr. Silva.” She steps forward. “I’m Dr. Harris. But please call me India.”

She’s Dr. Harris?

This hitch-your-skirt-up-and-let-me-fuck-you-right-now woman is my new therapist.

Well, that’s just fucking great. It’s not like I can bang my therapist.

I put my cock on hold and give her my best smile, the one that always has panties dropping to the floor, as I say, “And you can call me Leandro.”

Picking up Revived was nerve wracking to say the least. Although Revived can easily be read as a standalone the idea of a hot f1 driver was born in Revved (Carrick and Andie’s story) and my love for Carrick and that book was huge it’s been my favourite book so far this year so how would I feel when reading Leandro’s story? Could anything live up to Revved? Would Leandro be has hot as Carrick? These were all questions going through my mind as I stared at my kindle screen. I’d procrastinated long enough it was time to dive in, worst case I’d get more Carrick, best case I’d love Leandro too. What I wasn’t prepared for was the even better case of falling madly in love with both Carrick and Leandro and never wanting the story to end. Unfortunately it did end so now whilst I’m sat with yet another book hangover courtesy of Samantha I have to write a review and attempt to do justice to the words I read.

This book is definitely a ‘just one more chapter’ book, there was no easy place to stop reading but on the occasion I had too I was desperate to pick it up again. Leandro is an off the rails womaniser and India is a strong, stable and successful woman, they shouldn’t fit together yet the relationship between them has depth and I felt a real connection with them both from the outset and the sex? The sex is hot! Even hotter than Carrick and Andie’s.

The story felt more grown up than revved and that was thanks to the addition of Jett, I loved his relationship with Leandro and the way he obviously adored his mum I’d love him to get a story of his own.

I’ve saved the bit I loved the most until last and that was by far the relationship between Leandro and Carrick, it was hilarious and heartwarming, the perfect book bromance. As for who’s my favourite, I think I’d find it easier to choose my favourite child! Samantha writes amazing book boyfs that are impossible to forget so let’s just say I’m a Leandro lady who’s Carrick Crazy.

Another awesome 5 star read from an author who has fast become one of my favourites thanks to her ability to take me on unforgettable journeys that captivate me from the first page.

Chasing River Quote Card 2

Armed with two years’ worth of savings and the need to experience life outside the bubble of her Oregon small town, twenty-five-year old Amber Welles is prepared for anything. Except dying in Dublin. Had it not been for the bravery of a stranger, she might have. But he takes off before she has the chance to offer her gratitude.

Twenty-four-year-old River Delaney is rattled. No one was supposed to get hurt. But then that American tourist showed up. He couldn’t let her die, but he also couldn’t risk being identified at the scene—so, he ran. Back to his everyday life of running his family’s pub. Only, everyday life is getting more and more complicated, thanks to his brother, Aengus, and his criminal associations. When the American girl tracks River down, he quickly realizes how much he likes her, how wrong she is for him. And how dangerous it is to have her around. Chasing her off would be the smart move.

Maybe it’s because he saved her life, or maybe it’s because he’s completely different from everything she’s left behind, but Amber finds herself chasing after River Delaney. Amber isn’t the kind of girl to chase after anyone.

And River isn’t the kind of guy she’d want to catch.

Chasing River - Teaser 2

Well KA Tucker did it again, she created yet another story that will strike a chord long after you’ve finished the last page. Being from England, I’ve lived with the threat of the IRA throughout my life albeit a lot less than the generation before me but a threat that’s real nonetheless. So when I saw the first mention of the IRA my interest piqued and I was unsure as to how I’d feel towards the characters and whether this would be the KA Tucker story that I wouldn’t give 5stars too. I needn’t have worried, we are taken on this adventure that is so beautifully written and explored in a sensitive yet insightful manner.

Chasing River is less suspenseful than Burying Water and Becoming Rain but what we lose from the thrill of the chase and the who’s done what we more than gain in the history of Ireland and the intricate nature of their relationship. What I love about KA’s writing is that she homes in on the littlest details such as why tourists are obsessed with Irish things that don’t necessarily equal Irish history. Real tangible things like the story telling River did had me hooked and desperate to visit Dublin. The scene setting is perfect and it really felt like it was written by an Irish writer who frequented these places daily, not a Canadian who had just visited, the level of research KA puts into her work really shows throughout.

Having met Amber in Burying Water I already knew she was the goody two shoes of the family and a real sweetheart always looking out for others so from the outset I really wanted her to have an epic story, I wanted her to go and explore the life beyond the hospital and the family home and do something for herself. Her story is definitely one of drama once she meets River, a gorgeous Irish bartender who skates on the wrong arm of the law. Through their story we learn the history of Ireland from the potato famine to the IRA and how still many years later these fractions still impact today’s relationships.

There’s no denying River is hot and heroic at times and definitely worthy of being a top book boyfriend and he had me swooning with what he amended on Amber’s bucket list. It truly is a beautiful story entwined with hurt and circumstance but one that had me desperate to know more about both the characters and the real life struggle of Irish history.

If KA continues to write the way she has written the last 7 books of hers I will never bore of writing 5 star reviews.

And don’t forget BURYING WATER and BECOMING RAIN, the first two books in this thrilling series…

Review ~ The Calendar Game ~ Andie M. Long

REVIEWTCGRonnie, Ronnie, Ronnie what a wonderful breath of fresh air you are.

I read the Calendar Game whilst I was in a book rut and desperately in need of some light relief, life was hectic and digging into something dark and moody was not an option, I needed funny and boy did this deliver!

I first discovered Andie’s work with the alphabet game and fell in love with her characters. Stella and Gabe were hot and Ronnie was a hoot! She’s scatty, genuine and hilariously funny. Her give no s*** attitude had me laughing out loud a lot. I needed more Ronnie!

It’s safe to say I was a little excited when I heard Ronnie’s story was up next. We start the Calendar Game with a happy almost settled (as settled as she can be) Ronnie but then she discovers boyfriend Col’s big secret and the life she thought was all mapped out is suddenly turned upside down. How will she react? Where will she go from here? It’s safe to say she’s had a pretty crazy life so far can she fight anymore? Ronnie is nothing if not resilient though and if life threw lemon’s she would be the girl asking for the salt and tequila. Ronnie’s ability to bounce back is refreshing, her one liners are epic and her lady garden is the envy of everyone.

I loved how easy to read this book was and the light relief it gave me from the craziness of life.

5 hilariously funny stars.

Literary Lust Review by Donna

5 *****

Well Maria did it again! It got better and better the more i read. I had already fallen in love with the characters from book 1 – so couldn’t wait to get stuck into Soph and Saul’s story and Maria wrote it so well! It had all the feels, I was giggling away at the banter between the characters at times, stressed out from watching the events play out in my head, turning pages ever quicker to see what came next. I was happy, smiley and sometimes swooning at the love shown between not just the main characters but all of them. I love the sense of family created between them all.

I thoroughly enjoyed the twists and turns, just when you think you have it all figured out Maria likes to drop another bomb on us so be warned! haha! The humour injected at the most serious and crucial of times lightened the read perfectly!

I could go on all day here lol I think you get the point now.

I loved it.

Go buy it you wont regret it!

Review ~ Inhibitions ~ Kimberly Bracco

In the last six months, Ashley’s life has been one disappointment after another. She walked in on her boyfriend with another woman, leaving her needing a new place to live and a mountain of debt. As if that wasn’t enough, her ex convinces her that his infidelity is her fault for being unadventurous in bed.

Deep down Ashley has always had the desire to be wild but has been held back by her own insecurities. She’s desperate to break free, but she’s fearful of how people will judge her if they know her inner desires. She wants nothing more than to lose herself in sex that pushes her to the limit, but she hasn’t found anyone she trusts enough to take her there until she meets Tanner.

Tanner doesn’t trust anyone outside of his inner circle easily. The infamous, media proclaimed playboy, quarterback is tired of people using him for money, connections and to get their fifteen minutes of fame. Determined to protect his image and himself, he makes sure to keep most people at arm’s length until Ashley is thrown into his life. He’s inexplicably drawn to her, and she needs his help in more ways than one.  But to help her, he’ll need to let her in.

There’s an immediate attraction and connection that neither can deny, but can both of them get past their inhibitions and find what they are looking for in each other or will everything backfire in their faces?

My bad luck first started six months ago, when I discovered my boyfriend, Jason, had been cheating on me. I suppose if you asked my mother though, she’d say my bad luck had started two and half years ago, when I started dating Jason. My parents never liked him.

“He just rubs me the wrong way, Ashley,” my mother had always said. “He’s not the guy for you.” She’d claimed that it wasn’t one thing in particular but that something about Jason as a whole just didn’t sit right with her. Either way, she was right. I guess mother’s intuition really is accurate… But I’ve never told her the real reasons we broke up or how much debt he put me in before we did. Let’s just say I don’t want to see the look on her face if she found out the truth about Jason. She’d say that since she’d been right about my choice in him, maybe I should consider another career before it turned out she was right about that as well.

Jason and I had shared an apartment in Jersey City. That is until I’d found him having an afternoon romp in our sheets with someone who certainly wasn’t me one Thursday when he should have been working, and I kicked him out.

I’d come home early that day to grab a few outfit choices to bring with me to my best friend Quinn’s. We were heading to the city that night so I could check out a hit club for the weekend edition of the paper. I’d known that something was off the minute I walked through the door. A pair of women’s shoes lay on the living room floor. They were not mine. I didn’t own electric blue stilettos.

Then I heard them.

So, this is where I tell you how amazing it is being a blogger! I received an email slightly different from the generic ones that get lost in the sea of inbox mail. How glad am I that I spotted it and agreed to review this book!

I went into this read a little apprehensive, not knowing a great deal about the author. Glad I didn’t read up on other opinions of Kimberly’s writing too.

Firstly we meet Ashley who is having the worse luck as of late. She manages to bag herself a chance to shine, impress and progress at work. This entails an interview with Tanner, a home town sports star who is loved by many on and off the playing field!

Tanner having issues with journalists and the lies they print about him, reluctantly gives the interview. When Ashley is late, Tanner is far from impressed, then she turns her questioning personal on him and he’s not a happy bunny. There is an atmosphere/connection between the two characters which is intense and you can just imagine the sparks flying.

After reading the first few chapters I was hooked enough to not want to put the book down! The couple face obstacles in many forms and I enjoyed watching them adapt and learn together. Tanner’s charm and warmth was so endearing and at times you wanted to shake Ashley out of her insecurities.

The cliffhanger ending was a total surprise though! – Good job there’s not long to wait until the next in the series!!

If you like fast paced, romance with a few hot damn scenes this is the book for you!

Review ~ Against The Tide ~ Nikki Groom ~ reviewed by Donna

~I was happy until I met him.
I was content until I met her.
~That’s a lie. I was lonely.
That’s a lie. I was incomplete.
~He was nothing but a handsome distraction.
She was nothing but a pretty pastime.
~That’s untrue. He changed my life.
That’s untrue. She altered my world.
~I blame him.
I blame her.
~I blame myself. He wasn’t to know.
I blame myself. It wasn’t her fault.
~I don’t want to need him.
I hate that I want her.
~There’s no easy solution.
There’s no going back.

After reading Nikki’s first two books Holding Aces and High Stakes and absolutely LOVING them, you can only imagine how excited I was to get my hands on this book. Yet again I had my mind blown! The quality of Nikki’s writing keeps everything fluent and smooth.

Megan found herself in the middle of a mess when she was naive and ignorant to some wrong doings around her, the less she knew the better right? Her long time sweetheart turned into a stranger so she wanted an out.

Introducing Finn the hotty across the club. Going through a rough time himself feeling responsible for his sister and his mum.

One night of letting loose turned into something more.

Finn and Megan had such a magnetic pull between them you couldn’t help but hold your breath and wait for the outcome! Nikki’s writing again keeps you captivated and intrigued with all the feels, I laughed and cried and everything in between, as if I was there with the characters watching everything play out before my very eyes.

The supporting characters were charismatic, Harley, Kyle and Jamie my ultimate faves! The camaraderie between the boys is at times hilarious, and there were a few times I would have spat my drink out laughing (if I was drinking) at the bluntness of Jamie, who doesn’t have one of ‘those’ friends?

The plot twists were totally unexpected and kept you reading on as fast as you possibly could.

The thing that stood out the most for me was the raw emotions created. Not only was the scene set in enough detail for you to picture it like a movie but the moods flitting across the pages were intense and awe inspiring.

Thoroughly enjoyed this Nikki, Thank You and keep them coming! ❤

“Is Damien Brooks the guy you were at the club with, the night we …”

“The night we fucked in the alley?” she answers brazenly.

“You’re not very lady like.”

“I never claimed to be a lady.”

I lean forward in to the space between us, she pulls back a little until her shoulder hits the door trim. “Is Damien Brooks the guy you were at the club with the night we fucked in the alley?” I say in a low, soft voice. My eyes linger on her lips as her mouth drops open slightly, and the next breath she takes shudders through her chest.

“Yes. What does that matter?”

“Was he selling drugs there that night?”

“I …I don’t know what he …I don’t even know what I’m talking to you for.” She unbuckles her belt and starts tugging on the door handle. “Let me out. I must be fucking insane. You’re a psycho, a fucking lunatic, let me out of this fucking car before I kick the fuck out of your window with my heels.” She demands.

“Go ahead. Not my car.” I laugh, sitting back in amusement to watch the show.

“Should have known that too. Did you steal it? Of course you stole it, you just take what you want don’t you? You wanted me that night, and you took me. You just took me again, against my will, from outside my home.” She utters, “So what will you take next? What is it that you want from Damien, from me? I don’t have any money, I don’t have any drugs−”

I silence her hysterics by grabbing the back of her head roughly and crashing my lips against hers. There’s something about her that shoots a charge through my body, it’s against my better judgement but the frustration I have around my feelings toward her fuels the passion.

Reviewing this book is difficult because I can’t find the words to express how it made me feel, the fact is it did make me feel, a lot! I went through every single emotion whilst reading, the sadness brought me tears and the happiness left me smiling.

This is a story of two very wounded souls and their journey through the toughest time of their lives. It’s a perfect take on the ‘can they overcome everything that’s standing in their way’ story but the stand out to this story for me is how real it feels. Quite often in books of a similar theme too much is thrown at the characters that it’s hard to relate too, Nikki keeps this simple it’s not the quantity of things that’s the issue it’s the severity.

It’s hard not to imagine yourself as the characters and feel as if you’re experiencing their drama, that’s in part down to Nikki’s beautiful writing that flows fluently in all her work but also props go to the story itself. It’s gritty and relatable. Funny and heartwarming. Along with the sad times there’s light and happiness. Then there’s Finn well he’s a whole lot of hotness with a round of fun and a sprinkling of broodiness. I fell for him easily and his passion with Meg was beyond hot! As for Meg she’s the woman everyone has the potential to be, she’s run down by life but underneath she’s a fighter and we see her strength grow throughout.

In summary it’s a beautiful, fresh and beguiling read. I was captivated from the get go and the way I felt when reading those final four lines will stay with me forever.

Another job amazingly done Nikki!
