You know that saying: One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

I found out that it was true. At least, that’s what I’d thought a year earlier when a few stolen moments with this one, unexpected girl, turned my heart to mush.

I thought she was different.

I thought she was special.

But it turned out I was wrong.

I was the kind of guy who learned from his mistakes quickly, so I moved away, threw myself into my budding football career, and I was determined to make something of myself and focus on my future.

And it worked, despite me missing her.

For a short while, I had everything figured out again.

Then, in one split second, it was all gone, ripped out from beneath my feet.

An injury forced me back home to Winslow to face the world I’d left behind.

But I wasn’t the same man when I returned.

I was different now. Too different for everything to go back the way it was before.

I wasn’t the relationship type. I was the girl who mothers warned their sons about. I was the local piece of trash.

At least, that’s what they all thought.

None of them ever really knew me at all. None of them except him.

And then he left me… alone and confused. He forced me to hate him, to hate them all. I wanted to drift away. Leave Winslow far behind me and start afresh someplace else. Someplace new. Somewhere I could become anything and anyone I wanted to be.

But then he came back, dragging with him every moment, every explicit memory I had of us together and dumping them unceremoniously at my feet.

I wanted to keep hating him.

I wanted to resist.

But he was different now.

So cold, so angry, and sexy as all hell.

He’d changed, and all my plans for a happy ever after were shattered the moment he made the decision to return and show me exactly what I’d been missing while he’d been gone. I was screwed.

About the Author

Charlie M. Matthews is a hopeless romantic, lost in her own world of fairy tales and adventures. A lover of art and painting, she’d happily trade in her everyday clothes in exchange for a paint smudged shirt. In the confines of her attic room, she is able to create a world that is unlike no other. Mixing fantasy and fiction to generate a piece of work that she could so easily lose herself in. With her wild imagination and passion for reading, Charlie stumbled upon a new love.

What started as a distraction from the crazy little thing that is ‘life’, it soon became all too real. She no longer dreamt about the day her words would be published for all to see because that day had finally come true. It 2015 she released her first novel and hasn’t looked back since.

Charlie is a mum of three beautiful children, living in a small village on the outskirts of Oxfordshire, England. Born and raised in the busy town of Reading, she switched the bright lights and traffic jams for a quiet life in the sticks a little over eight years ago.

Between school runs and generally just doing the whole ‘mum’ thing, you’ll most likely find her slobbing out on the sofa, shouting at the tv screen while her favourite football team (Arsenal) are tearing up the field. And yes, no doubt there will be beer involved, or if she’s feeling extra girlie, maybe even a glass of vino.

“I know how to watch my back. I’m the only one that ever has.”
India Maxwell hasn’t just moved across the country—she’s plummeted to the bottom rung of the social ladder. It’s taken years to cover the mess of her home life with a veneer of popularity. Now she’s living in one of Boston’s wealthiest neighborhoods with her mom’s fiancé and his daughter, Eloise. Thanks to her soon-to-be stepsister’s clique of friends, including Eloise’s gorgeous, arrogant boyfriend Finn, India feels like the one thing she hoped never to be seen as again: trash.
But India’s not alone in struggling to control the secrets of her past. Eloise and Finn, the school’s golden couple, aren’t all they seem to be. In fact, everyone’s life is infinitely more complex than it first appears. And as India grows closer to Finn and befriends Eloise, threatening the facades that hold them together, what’s left are truths that are brutal, beautiful, and big enough to change them forever…

Zoë’s Review

Sam young has long been a go to author for me, it’s not unusual for me to fall in love with her words and the fictional worlds she creates. In that respect I wasn’t surprised that I loved The Impossible Vastness Of Us. What I was surprised about was the fact that her young adult offering, something so different from the characters I normally adore had me so in love with them that my heart ached.

In true Young style she transported me to a world that consumed me. The characters became family to me and I hung on their every word. It was one of those books I could’ve happily devoured in one sitting but I found myself limiting myself half way through, slowing my reading speed to cling on for longer, I really didn’t want to leave Finn and India’s world.

I don’t want to say too much about the plot as you have the blurb for that and I’d hate to give away anymore than is necessary. What I will say is the characters are great, well developed and enjoyable to read. There are secrets and lies a plenty and Young handles serious issues with great consideration.

My heart ached for Finn, India and Elouise their lives were far from easy and they were a stark reminder that appearances can be deceiving. Whilst I’m a sucker for a romance and as much as I loved the romance in this book, the love between friends meant way more to me than who ended up with who. It was an epic example of how far we’ll go to support the ones we love even when that love is purely platonic.

If you want a read that reinstates your faith in friendships and the goodness within then this book is for you.

K.A. Tucker Until It Fades Blog Tour and Review

ABOUT UNTIL IT FADES:Twenty-four-year-old truck stop waitress and single mother Catherine Wright has simple goals: to give her five-year-old daughter a happy life and to never again be the talk of the town in Balsam, Pennsylvania (population three thousand outside of tourist season).
And then one foggy night, on a lonely road back from another failed date, Catherine saves a man’s life. It isn’t until after the police have arrived that Catherine realizes exactly who it is she has rescued: Brett Madden, hockey icon and media darling.
Catherine has already had her fifteen minutes of fame and the last thing she wants is to have her past dragged back into the spotlight, only this time on a national stage. So she hides her identity. It works. For a time.
But when she finds the man she saved standing on her doorstep, desperate to thank her, all that changes. There’s an immediate connection, and it’s more electric than the bond of two people who endured a traumatic event. It’s something neither of them expected. Something that Catherine isn’t sure she can handle; something she is afraid to trust.
Because how long can an extraordinary man like Brett be interested in an ordinary woman like Catherine…before the spark fades?

K.A. Tucker is the author of He Will Be My Ruin and the Ten Tiny Breaths and Burying Water series. She currently resides outside of Toronto with her husband, two beautiful girls, and a Chug.

Zoë’s review

5 stars

Ka Tucker smashes it out of the park yet again! This time however she does it in a very different way. The thing I love about Tucker is her story telling ability, the fact that she is the queen of romantic suspense yet she has just written one of my new favourite easy reads shows how talented she is.
The thing I love most about until it fades is it’s simplicity. The story has no major dramas, it has amazing characters that you can’t help but fall in love with and actually feel as if they’re friends. You genuinely root for them throughout.
The character development for me is what keeps me coming back to Tucker, she creates these people we fall in love with or want to hate. You can’t help but feel like you’re apart of their world. She doesn’t just stop at the main characters it breeds into all of those. I even feel like she could write a full book for any of the side characters and I’d happily pick them up. Catherine is a fabulous heroine, the kind of girl we wish we could be if put in her situation. She’s smart, unassuming and a real sweetheart. You can’t help but be endeared by her from the get go.
As for Brett *swoooooon* he’s everything a book boyfriend should be and that is all I’m saying about him.
This book is pure romantic indulgence, it’s well written, it’s all consuming and you will easily read in one sitting. If you want light hearted fun, this is it.
Another fantastic read from KA Tucker. Romance junkies, what are you waiting for?

**Blog Tour** Marcus by Victoria L. James

Book: Marcus (A Natexus Novel)

Author: Victoria L. James

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Five weeks after Natalie walked out of my life, I was forced to go back to the start. Twice I’d given my heart to those who didn’t want it, leaving me alone again wondering who I was, where I was meant to be going, and what I stood for.

Loneliness became my new best friend, no matter how hard I tried to deny it. Bitterness threatened to take over and turn me into somebody I wasn’t. Nothing made me feel alive anymore. Nothing made me happy.

Until she arrived. Her. The girl no one was meant to fall in love with—especially not me. Especially not then.

We didn’t know that our time together was fleeting. Our futures were already shaped for us, weaved together by a string of events that were destined to tear us apart if we let them. I just wasn’t willing to go down without a fight this time.

Not all men give up so easily, and the scars on my heart had made me stronger. If anyone could beat the cruel hand of fate, it was me. All I had to do was believe.

In me. In her. In us.

That beautiful, unexpected, thrilling, surprise love of mine.

Meet the Author

Victoria L James is a teenage girl stuck in a thirty-something year-olds body. Living somewhere ‘oop north’ in England, she has had a strong passion for words and stories going as far back as she can remember, which she credits to her grandmother and her love of reading anything that was on sale and cheap from the local market stall. Never once did she think she would release a novel, though. At best, she thought her love of language and her ability to create stories in her mind would provide her with a ‘get out of jail free’ card whenever she messed up and her parents were mad at her during her teenage years… and when even that didn’t work out, she thought she was pretty much done for.

When an opportunity presented itself for her to take a back seat from paid working life for a few years, she knew straight away that she had to try and write about a few of these worlds she’d come up with along the way, and quieten all the voices in her head without racking up a heavy psychiatry bill for the pleasure.
Wearing her heart on her sleeve and trying to lighten her friends’ and family’s lives with naff, and more often than not, badly timed, nineties jokes, she has yet to learn the art of knowing when to shut up. Which is another reason writing became a passion of hers. With pen and paper, there are no limits.
A firm believer in never quitting, with a ridiculous obsession for all things Rocky, she hopes that one day she writes a story that will inspire at least one person out there to keep on going if they’re struggling. Other than that, she’s just a regular old converse wearing, corona sipping, English version of Chandler Bing, who loves and adores her family more than life itself. Oh, and she also has two cats. Every writer has to mention their cats, right?

Zoë’s review

This review is so hard to write for three main reasons.

1. You really need to read Natexus first and it’s hard not to give anything away about Natexus whilst reviewing Marcus.

2. You have to ‘live’ Marcus as you’re reading it, it’s raw, it’s painful, it’s beautiful, in no particular order which means everything I write about the story would be giving something away and I don’t want to ruin the magic for you.

3. How do you put words that do any sort of justice to the words Victoria writes?

I’ll try and babble some thoughts although they’ll likely be in an incoherent form. Firstly I should start by saying I had high expectations of Marcus. I thought it would be awesome but it was nothing like I expected, the angst wasn’t as terrifying as I thought it would be and it wasn’t as sad as I feared. It was indescribable really. But here’s what it was, it was beautiful, it was poetic, it made me smile, it made me swoon, it made me gasp and it made me happy, at the same time it made me sad and made me appreciate life. The best way to describe Marcus is after how Natexus left me, Marcus ‘squeezed all my cracks back together’. Some of the moments were heartstopping and many of the one liners thought provoking. The author is a sorceress. She has the ability to create a world in which I want to immerse myself, her words reach out to me like no other and I find them making sense in my own life. She writes words so good that you would happily ink them on your skin. I can’t really write a review without giving away spoilers so this is all you’re getting, go read it for yourself and fall in love with the characters, the world that’s created and Victoria L. James.

Marcus, is right up there as one of my ultimates he’s given Travis Maddox one hell of a run for his money. He’s my grown up adult version of the perfect book boyf. Thank you Victoria L. James for not giving me the awesome story I expected, thank you for giving me the stupendous story I didn’t even know I needed. ❤️

“Do you have any idea what you got involved in tonight, little girl?” His voice is low, dangerous, and for the first time since I woke, fear taps at each bone as it trickles down my spine and he moves closer. “I might not know your name, but I do know what you’ve done. What are you, some kind of femme fatale? You on a mission to rid the world of all the bad guys?” He chuckles to himself then stops with his body flush to mine. I hold his gaze, refusing to back off, feeling the fire in his eyes burning through mine. He strokes a finger lightly along my temple and down my cheek. “You got daddy issues?” he whispers.
“Fuck. You.” I shove at his chest, but he doesn’t budge an inch which only increases my frustration.
“Oh, sweetheart, usually I would take a girl up on such an offer, but—”
I bring my hand up to slap him, but he catches my wrist and grabs the other one in a flash, roughly pinning them to my side. “Oh no, you don’t.” He laughs under his breath, but his gaze is anything but humorous. “You got a lucky shot in last time. That kinda luck doesn’t happen twice.” He leans in close, pushing my hair from my face gently with his cheekbone and settling his hot breath over my ear. “Now, we can do this the easy way, or the hard way. I’m not above binding you again—” He pauses, letting a few heated breaths brush across my skin. “So tell me, are you going to bend and comply? Which will make it so much easier for you, or am I going to have to wrangle your twisted little soul into submission?”

H. A. Robinson is a jet-setting billionaire with a home on each continent, who spends her free time saving kittens from trees and babies from burning buildings. A graduate of Hogwarts and a frequent visitor to Narnia, she drinks coffee in Central Perk and tames dragons in Westeros.

In her dreams…

In reality, she’s a support worker living in a small town in Cheshire, who would almost always choose fantasy over reality. She’s been an obsessive reader from the moment she picked up her first Enid Blyton book, more years ago than she cares to admit, and enjoys nothing more than getting lost in new worlds and adventures from the minds of all the amazing authors out there.

She’s had the voices of characters in her head for as long as she can remember, and puts them down on paper in order to convince herself and the men in white coats that she isn’t crazy.

Zoë’s Review

4.5 amazingly angsty stars.

The Pebble Jar is the first book I’ve read from H.A. Robinson and what an introduction to her awesome words I had. The world of Abbi and Elliot pulled me in and smothered me with angst, self doubt and a coming of age story that will stay with me forever.

Oh Abbi, if only she could see herself the way we all see her, a loving, caring and sassy young woman with the world at her feet. Instead in true teenage girl style she’s shrouded in self doubt (which is not a surprising given her upbringing) and second guesses everything she does, the only two true constants in her life are her Nonna and her best friend Elliot however her world is thrown into disarray when her constants become more distant. Robinson’s words have a way of sneaking up on you and engulfing you in the story, one minute you’re reading about Abbi and Elliott and the next you’re thrown back to your teenage years remembering the worries, the insecurities and the naivety. I think we can all relate to Abbi and how it felt to be in love for the first time, the confusion the pain and the fact that no matter how hard you tried to fight it, it just wouldn’t subside.

Abbi blames herself for a lot of things that are not her fault and although part of me wanted to shake her and tell her to toughen up the other part ached for the lost teenage girl most of us were at one point. Elliot frustrated me at times I just wanted him to see what was infront of his face but hey, he’s a teenage boy, as if that was gonna happen! All these things just added to my enjoyment, I love the thrill of wanting what you can’t have and the Pebble Jar has that in abundance meaning I  couldn’t help but turn the page- sometimes before I’d even read the current one properly.

It’s no secret that best friends to lovers is one of my favourite genres but Robinson exceeded all my expectations and gave me all the emotions I crave. The angst was unbearable (in a good way) and at times I had to put my book down to compose myself but at the same time I couldn’t tear myself away, this book consumed me so much so that I did nothing but think of Abbi and Elliott even when my head wasn’t stuck in the book. I mostly devoured this is two sittings only pulling away because I had to join the real world and go to work even then I was sneaking my phone out to read a bit more.

What I loved most about the book was that Robinson didn’t rush through the years in a bid to throw a sex scene or two in. She didn’t fast forward 3 or 4 years to make the love story seem more grown up like many teenage romance authors do. She took it day by day and allowed us to feel the pain that comes with loving someone so fiercely, the confusion of the teenage years and the reality of growing up. The only thing missing for me was a bit more from Elliott whether it was from him directly or just one more chapter at the end covering him or his reasons for why he did certain things, I can’t elaborate on why as I don’t want to ruin this for anyone but it’s the reason I knocked off half a star as I just felt there was a little bit unanswered for me. I truly believe this should be read with as little insight as possible so it’s hard for my review to do much justice so I just implore you all to read and get lost in the world of Abbi and Elliott, with words as good as these Robinson has guaranteed that this won’t be the last book I read of hers.
