New release ~ Jetson ~ CA Ellis

Title: Jetson (Entwine in the Vine #2)
Author: CA Ellis
Release Date: April 30, 2015

Synopsis:

Prepare for the highs… Prepare for the lows…Prepare to fall in love…

Jett, Sonny, Jude and Ace are four guys with very different personalities but with one strong mutual goal: to take their band, Jetson, all the way.

Jett Matthews, the lead singer of Jetson, and his boys are finally hitting the big time and living the dream they’ve strived so long for.

As always, dreams come at a price. There’s the non-stop media attention, the parties, the booze binges, and of course, being hounded by hundreds of groupies. For these boys, all that doesn’t seem like a hard price to pay; in fact for some of them, it’s just perks of the job.

Jett’s finally back on home soil after a tour of the U.S and Europe, when the cutest girl with the pinkest hair enters his world. Jett seems to be falling hard for the rainbow-haired beauty, but can she handle the pitfalls of fame and a life in the spotlight she’s about to be plunged into? She has a lot to consider, like her son.

As we follow Jett and Dolly’s journey, there are curve balls being thrown from all directions. Can Jett have his musical dream and his girl? And when the unthinkable happens, is it a step too far for Jett and Dolly’s love to survive?

Ultimately, can Jett keep the only girl he’s ever really wanted, while he takes over the world one sexy, husky lyric at a time?

Excerpt:

I hear a large bang against my bedroom door, like someone has just walked into it, followed by a multitude of expletives. I smile, knowing it’s Sonny on the other side of the door. He’s no doubt just tried to walk straight into my room, not considering that it might be locked. I haul myself off the bed and head over to the door; I’m still smirking as I unlock and open it, and there is my best friend, rubbing his head and shoulder simultaneously.
His face is pained with deep frown lines across his forehead, “Jett, what the fuck, man? I just practically broke my arm and smashed my skull in?”
“The door was locked, Sonny. I am entitled to some privacy. If you started knocking before just walking in to my room maybe I wouldn’t have to lock the door.”
I see Sonny’s pained expression turn to suspicion as he looks over my shoulder into my room. “You got a chick in there, because there was no bandana tied around your door handle, man.”
“No, Sonny,” I say, exasperated. “I haven’t got a woman in here. I just wanted a bit of peace and quiet.”
“Oh, you were jerking off then,” Sonny replies, nodding in understanding, and smiling, because in his eyes, that at least makes a good enough reason for my door to be locked.
I sigh

 About the Author:

I am a crazy, happy and fun Essex wife, mum and a good friend to anyone who needs one. I love cheese and red wine. I am addicted to Starbucks lattes and social networking, where I have made some wonderful friends, some of which I have since met in the flesh.

I released ‘The Vine’ in last August 2014. ‘The Vine’ is the first book in my ‘Entwined in the Vine’ series, the second book in the series ‘Jetson’ is about a hot rock star by the name of Jett Matthews. The third book in the series I have already started writing and is about sassy chick Katy Stephens and I hope to have it released the early part of 2016, although it could be earlier!!

Written as a series, I recommend reading them in order, although this is not essential as each book can be read as a standalone as they focus on different characters.

When I am not writing I can be found reading, listening to music, browsing Pinterest or just generally daydreaming about a new make believe world I can throw myself into.

Cover Reveal ~ Twisted Bond ~ Emma Hart

I’m an Italian-Texan woman in a family full of cops. I’m passionate and shoot before I think. You only f*ck with me if you’re stupid.
Photograph cheating spouses. Hand over the evidence. Cash my check.
That was my plan when I returned home to Holly Woods, Texas, and became a private investigator.
Finding the dead body in my dumpster? Yeah… Given the choice, I think I would have opted out of that little discovery, especially since all three of my brothers are cops. And my Italian grandmother is sure the reason I’m single is because of my job.
Of course, my connection to the victim is entirely coincidental. Until I’m hired by her husband to investigate her murder and shoved bang-smack into the path of Detective Drake Nash.
My nemesis, a persistent pain in my ass, and one hell of a sexy son of a bitch.
Shame he still holds a grudge from that time I shot him in the foot twelve years ago, or we could have something. In another life.
So now all I have to do is avoid my nonna’s blind dates, try not to blackmail my brothers into giving me confidential police files, and absolutely do not point my gun at Drake Nash. Or kiss him. Or jump his bones.
All while I hunt down the killer.
Sounds totally simple—until a second body proves that sometimes things that start as coincidences don’t always end up that way…
(Twisted Bond is book one of the Holly Woods Files series and while it does not end in a cliffhanger, it is not a standalone.)

“Get out!” I yell, my voice hoarse.

“I’m sorry?” Drake recoils.

“Get out. Of my building,” I add, moving toward him as he walks backward. “If you don’t have a warrant in your ass pocket, get the fuck out. Now.”

He grabs my wrist and pulls me into him. “Listen to me, cupcake. Someone got real lucky last night, and that someone was you. You weren’t here when your killer wanted you to be. Yeah, I said yours. They know you’re waitin’ for ‘em. Most nights you’d be here, right? But last night, because I pissed your ass off, you weren’t. Know what that tells me?”

“I’m sure you’re gonna tell me,” I manage through gritted teeth.

“It tells me this killer is watching you. You ain’t safe. They’re waiting to strike, and it’s gonna be the second you’re alone. We’re close. I can feel it. You’re their target now. And this killer? They want to kill you.”

“No shit,” I whisper, looking away from him. “I won’t back down. I don’t care what you say. They can try and kill me. I’ve dealt with worse.”

“Stop being a pain in my ass.” He grabs my chin and forces me to look into his eyes and all their devastatingly icy glory. “Someone. Wants. To. Kill. You.”

“I know.”

“Yet you don’t care.”

“I care,” I whisper, holding his gaze. “But did you ever think that I’m your best bet at catching this person? If they’re watching me, if they want to kill me, they’re there. Waitin’, like you said. And that means they’re gonna come to me. Not you. Not anyone else. Me.”

“Yeah, I thought it. But I don’t like it.”

“Ain’t your job to like it, Detective. It’s your job to deal with it.”

“You’re right. It ain’t my job to like it, but I ain’t exactly dealing with it either.”

“What the hell does that mean?”

“It means,” he leans in, his touch relaxing just a smidge, “It means that I don’t like it. I’m not dealin’ with it. And the thought of you bein’ in the kinda danger you are scares the ever-lovin’ fuckin’ shit out of me.”

I added another track, exploding the speaker with a fast beat, and danced around until I felt a pair of hands run up the sides of my thighs, slow and easy.

“What are you doing?” I yelled up at Peters. He was standing directly behind me and the top of my head landed just below his chin. His answer was to pull my backside into his hips.

“I’m dancing, Sinister.” He groaned into the back of my neck. “This is what you wanted, right? No inhibitions. I’m your bitch tonight, right? We can start flinging knives in the morning.”

I let out a cracked laugh, not quite understanding this one-eighty in his personality. “You don’t bring a knife to a gun fight, Peters, but if you’re referencing your dick, I’d be shocked to receive a paper cut.”

He pressed even farther into me as I continued to mix.

Looking back on this now, I should have just elbowed him in the stomach and tripped him off the edge of the balcony, but I was drunk. Elated by the dancing crowd. Everything about this place screamed sex—the people, the lighting, the sweat dripping off bodies, and his husky breathing against my ear breaking down my protective dome. I tried to muster the strength to stop him, but with my mind half altered, my body took over completely.

As if he knew I was struggling, he gently lifted the back of my damp hair and planted his lips on my neck. His tongue swept across my skin, and he softly moaned over my fret board. I released a sharp breath into the microphone, and he laughed against the back of my ear.

“What… are… you—”

Before I could finish my pathetic plea to end this, his hands slid over my front, gliding down my stomach and stopping just before the waistband of my underwear.

“Peters,” I rasped.

His hand rolled over my shirt, and he pulled it deep between my legs. I let out a breathy groan into the microphone and tipped back my head until it rested against his shoulder. Peters dragged his tongue up the inside of my neck like I was a Popsicle—his favorite flavor—long and flat. He pulled my sweat into his mouth.

When the music rose to a sharp crescendo, so did my panting, right into the mic. It was hard to believe this six-foot-two behemoth could deliver such a delicate touch, but I didn’t have to turn around to know it was him. My body had a memory of its own.

Excerpt

He put his hand into the small of my back and the warmth of his hand charged through my body spreading like fire through my veins. “OH my god.” I turned toward him, and moved my hands to hold him back, placing my hand on his amazing ass. I truly could not help myself. That earned me another sexy-as-hell grin from him that made my knickers soaking wet. As I stood there in his half-embrace, I noticed the glow of his golden skin even his jeans showcased his ass beautifully. He really is a very pretty package, in a manly way. I felt hands move slowly over my hips as I danced to the beat of the music I turned into his stunningly large frame, his powerful arms wrapped around my middle, as he moved his hands to cup my ass. Then he swooped while his hips pressed against me. I may have swooned. Logan reached up and swept my hair to one side, exposing my skin there, I quivered in anticipation as I felt the heat of his breath blow against my sensitive skin at my neck stroking his fingers along my shoulder blade. My body reacted making my thighs clench tightly together. I tilted my head slightly to the side in invitation; I was totally mesmerized by him like id been hypnotised, completely lost in that moment. I couldn’t help myself really. The only coherent thought I had in that moment, was God, if I’m dreaming please don’t let me wake up. I wouldn’t want to miss this.

#TheCryingAssistant does York

#TheCryingAssistant does York and boy does she do it well!!

Friday morning arrived and it was soon time to depart for York, the disappointment the week before in London weighed heavy on my heart but I had faith, faith that Ava would put on a show that we would be proud to be a part of. From the start to the end we were kept informed of changes and the general goings on whether it was an author dropout or a major change. More than that we had a voice, we were allowed an input and it was clear to see this signing was not about making money it was about making people happy.

With that in mind me and the hubs jumped on a train and made our way to York, we got there early and spent the whole afternoon drinking cocktails by the river-being parents of 3 time in the pub during the day is a rarity so we were savouring every moment! Eventually Natasha and her hubs joined the fun and the madness began. After dinner and a few drinks later we found the oldest pub in York and got touched up by a skeleton that we then realised was once a woman, oh well we’re not fussy!!

The hashtags were in full swing thanks to the #HighFiveFail and the weekend was off to an outstanding start. Thinking it was probably time for bed we headed home but obviously had to have a quick drink in the hotel bar first. Yeah that quick drink finished 3hours later at almost 3am after hours of gossiping with the wonderful Rebecca Sherwin and KL Shandwick! Next up was signing day, I was tired and kicking myself for not going to bed earlier but once we got to the room I perked up it was impossible not to, the room itself was so light and welcoming and the amount of talent that was on show was incredible (including the actual hot totty talent that is Jase Dean). After London imagine my surprise when 30mins laters we were bought cups of tea and coffee, immediately the signing was off to a good start. Throughout the day I fangirled a little I mean on the table next to us there was Kirsty Moseley and the one behind was Sam Towle!! What’s a little old blogger like me supposed to do in that situation?! Tasha and I had so much fun as always even though I’m sure I’m more of a hinderance than a help Tasha still lets me sit there winding her up and even had me my own tshirt made and check out my lanyard, I’m a proper assistant now!

For me though the highlight was seeing the all for the ❤️❤️❤️ girls and getting to meet Fran from Francessca’s romance reviews we have spoken online for a while and she’s such a huge part of the a group it was great to finally see her in person alongside my amazing blog partner Donna. What made it even more special was they were getting to share their first signing experience together, I remember what it felt like to fangirl for the first time and it was lovely to watch them be embraced by this crazy book world.

I even got to assist the Moseley for 10mins #BestJobEver

I even got to assist the Moseley for 10mins #BestJobEver

A really bad shot of all the authors together.

I can’t go any further without mentioning the rest of the all for the ❤️❤️❤️ ladies each time we meet it gets better, I’m so lucky that we get to share our blogging load with 5 other amazing blogs but more than that I’m lucky that I get to call them friends, I really missed the girls that couldn’t be there and I still hope in the not so distant future the 8 of us will actually be in the same room!

5/8's of my all for the ❤️❤️❤️ girls.

5/8’s of my all for the ❤️❤️❤️ girls.

image

Donna and I ridiculously smiley because we actually attended a signing together 💕

Once the signing was over it was time to party and party we did!! Whilst stood in the hotel lobby I realised I didn’t have a jacket and it was cold and wet outside so Lesley Jones popped up to her room to grab me a shawl to use, what? Lesley Jones I was wearing Lesley Fucking Jones’ wrap!! Yet another example of how we all look out for each other.

The night do was simple yet effective the food was great and the atmosphere was even better. The photo booth was an excellent addition looking back through the pictures has had me in stitches.

❤️ This lady!

❤️ This lady!

We drank and laughed all night until we couldn’t hack the pace anymore. Reluctantly it was time for bed and despite being really happy at how well the weekend had played out I was sad it was over.

This was without doubt one of the most successful signings I’ve attended and I’ll tell you why, the people were real, the organiser was fab, (Ava you’ve stolen my heart) and the authors were their usual awesome self. From the get go Ava has kept us in the loop, she’s shared ideas with us, let us have an input and even when the times got tough and things weren’t going to plan she was open and honest. The Facebook group enabled us all to chat regularly so much so that even those we’d never met felt like old friends by the signing. For me this wasn’t just a signing it was OUR signing! The selling point for me was the fact that I was actually treat like a human being (unlike in London) I got lunch, snacks, drinks and even an assistant gift. As an assistant I can’t tell you how nice that was, every other signing even the successful ones we’ve had to fend for ourselves, which is fine we’re not the ones people are paying to see but the fact Ava took into account that we too sit there all day and would want refreshments too means a lot. It was great to feel appreciated and part of the team. I can not congratulate Ava enough for the weekend she produced, even though she will say ‘it wasn’t me it was the team I had supporting me’ and although the team were brilliant, whether it was just bringing more water, feeding us, running the raffle or just being visible should we need them, what she needs to realise is that as good as that team was it wouldn’t have been successful without the crazy arsed leader showing them the way!

So to everybody that I met over the weekend and to those I didn’t I hope you all had a blast too, I’m honoured to have shared such a extraordinary weekend with you and to those that missed out, fear not Ava’s doing it again in 2018 👏❤️

Excerpt:  Until July

I sit up when I see a few bikes in the distance. I don’t recognize their patches, but that doesn’t surprise me. Tennessee has a huge MC community, and there are always new clubs popping up all over the state. I slow down as I close the distance between us.

The closer I get, the more details I can make out. The group of about five bikes in front of me are all Harleys, all ranging in colors from almost purple to black. None of the men are wearing helmets, which is the complete opposite of me, who is covered from head to toe in black leather. Even my helmet is all black, with leather piping.

I take the men in, noticing they are all well-built, their leather cuts displaying a large eagle, with its wings spread wide like it’s midflight. The talons of the bird are carrying a long stem rose, with petals falling off it onto their club name, The Broken Eagles. I begin to speed up and pass them one by one, thankful for the security of my helmet, the black visor making it impossible to see me.

I keep my head straight until the last guy, the one who is at the front of the group, catches my attention. From the back, his hair is the first thing I notice. It’s slightly long on top and buzzed on the sides. My eyes move to the expanse of his back, the wide set of his shoulders, and the tan skin covering his lean muscles. His bike is low to the ground, and the bars are in front of him in a way that he has to stretch his arms straight out, causing every muscle to flex and move, making it look like the tattoos are alive and dancing.

My eyes skim farther down over his chest, which is covered in a white tank top tucked into a pair of light jeans, and around his waist is a black belt with a large silver buckle. I continue to pass him, my eyes shifting from the road to him and back again. This time when I look over, his head is turned towards me, and if I didn’t know any better, I would have swear he is looking directly into my soul.

“Holy shit,” I whisper, taking in his hair, the set of his jaw that is covered in days of stubble, and a pair of light eyes I can’t quite make out through the tint of my helmet. He is seriously hot, but equally scary-looking. I look from him back to the road. It must not have been even a second, but when my eyes go to the asphalt in front of me, I see a bird that is trying to make its way across the road, its wing hanging in an awkward position. I swerve to the right just in time to miss the poor animal.

“What the fuck?” I hear roared, and I look over my shoulder at the man who is now coming up quick on my right side. I yell an apology over the sound of my engine and his pipes. Do a quick wave and take off, lowering my body and pulling back the throttle, wanting to get away from them. Dude looks seriously pissed off, and even though I hate leaving the bird behind without helping it, I would like to live to see my next birthday.

I think I’m in the clear, but then the sound of pipes fills my ears, and I don’t even know how it happens, but they all catch up with me, surrounding my bike. I can’t make out what they’re saying, but my stomach starts to roll at the sound of their voices. I feel my side to make sure I have the Taser my dad insisted I carry.

I see a clearing and pull my bike off to the side of the road. I know this is probably one of the stupidest things I have ever done, but if they keep chasing me like they have been, we could all end up seriously hurt. I pull over and don’t even shut down my bike. I just lower my kickstand as my heart, which was already beating hard, begins to bang violently against my ribcage as they surround me.

“What the fuck is wrong with you?” the guy who was at the head of the group asks, stepping in front of my bike.

I shake my head as my words get lodged in my throat.

He pulls me off my bike, and the men who are with him begin yelling obscenities as well.

“Sorry,” I croak out, and I don’t even know if he hears me as his hand goes to the collar of my leather jacket, where he shakes me hard. My hand accidently presses down on the button that ignites the Taser. The loud crack fills the air, and his eyes go wide then he falls to the ground, and I fall on my ass and crabwalk backwards. I look up when I hit something, only to meet the eyes of another man, who looks pissed.

“Get up,” he growls, picking me up. My feet flail under me as I’m lifted off the ground with my hands restrained behind my back.

“Hold him still,” the guy who I had tasered growls in front of me as I try to get away from the anger I feel coming off him. His hands go to my head and he rips my helmet off, causing my hair to float down around me.

Complete silence descends. I swear no one even takes a breath.

 REVIEW

Another review from the All For the ❤ ❤ ❤ Review Team

Until July by Aurora Rose Reynolds Reviewed by Donna @

@Allforthelove8

So I have read ALL of this series and loved every single one of them, along with the Mayson boys and their ladies!

I dived in head first expecting another great story. I got what i wanted but found certain things weren’t as good as I would have liked. I found it quite unrealistic as to how fast the two main characters had established their relationship milestones.

Wes is typically alpha male which is in my eyes hot as f*** and July is the typical Daddy’s girl who falls into the path of a man similar to her Dad personality wise. Asher surprised me by accepting Wes into his family without a bat of an eyelash – This is his baby girl hooking up with a big bad biker ~ I know my dad wouldn’t be happy.

The sense of family is as apparent as in all the other books within the Until series which is nice. I enjoyed bumping into the other characters along the way within this story too.

The new supporting characters were funny and endearing, my faves had to be Wes and July’s best friends.

All in all i did enjoy this book but would have given it a higher rating if it was a little more highly strung in the angst department and a little more dramatic. If you like a pleasant steady read which is easy on the old emotions this is the book for you ❤

Coming Soon ~ Under The Influence ~ L.B. Simmons

Under the Influence KINDLE

Dalton,

I loved you once. A love I thought irrevocable. A love I mistakenly believed could transcend both time and circumstance. Under the influence of my dimwitted, naïve, traitorous heart, I became intoxicated with what I now know was simply a figment of my self-indulgent imagination. So drunk on the feeling, I couldn’t see what was right in front of my face. So foolishly enamored, I blindly followed my heart into the depths of an emotion that would ravage me.

Years later, I know now what I wish I knew then. I am stronger. Smarter. Tougher. I will not allow myself to be broken again.

I loved you.

I raged for you.

I wept for you.

And now, I’m letting you go.

Author’s Note: Under the Influence is the journey of two childhood friends that spans the course of five pivotal years in their lives. It is a story about their discovery of true friendship as it blossoms into first love, their experience of crucial sacrifice and ultimate betrayal, and their endurance of agonizing heartbreak on the way to finding lasting redemption.

Spencer POV:

Cassie maintains her wide smile. “You go on a date and I guarantee what you find regarding Dalton and his feelings will surprise you.”

“Cassie. No one wants to go out on a date with me. Trust me.”

She shakes her head before she busts out laughing. The ridiculous sound of it reverberates around my room. “You really have no idea, do you? Every guy at school has a hard-on for you, you fool. They’re fucking scared to come within even ten feet of you because of Dalton. He let it be known that if they did, he would deal with them.”

“Oh my God! You have no idea what you’re talking about!”I’m laughing outright now. She really has lost her mind.

She shakes her head, the severity of her statement tightening her features. “I’m totally serious, Spence. I swear on my Kindle.”

At this, I take a sharp breath and sober immediately. To Cassie, her Kindle is sacred as the Bible.

She nods slowly, dramatically, as she watches me grasp the meaning of her statement. Right hand raised, she states, “On the over-abundance of trashy romance novels within my possession, I solemnly swear that before Dalton graduated, he straight-up took out a vendetta against any male in our school who dares approach you.”

“He did what?!”I screech, pressing myself off the bed and catapulting into upright position.

Anger ignites and my face heats wildly as realization dawns.

This whole year, in fact, the entire four years of high school, no one has looked at me. No one has asked me to come to parties, to go on dates, to go to prom. Not that I would go, but it would be nice to be asked, you know? Okay, I probably would go. I mean, it’s a rite of passage, right?

Two black painted fingernails make their appearance as they snap directly in front of my face, jolting me out of my inner thoughts.

“Hooker! Pay attention!”

I shake my head and refocus. Still seething, I whisper, “This whole time, I thought it was me. That I wasn’t dating material or pretty enough. Four years, Cass. Four years of feeling like I wasn’t good enough.”My molars grind together. “It all makes sense now.”

She waves her hand dismissively. “We’re getting off track here.”

My eyes bulge as she continues, “I have found someone who, luckily for you, seems to have recently acquired a death wish.”

New Release ~ The Consequence of Loving Colton ~ Rachel Van Dyken

It’s all fun and games…until someone’s heart is broken.
They’re not kids anymore, but Milo Caro is certain that
Colton Mathews will only see her as his best friend’s little sister for the
rest of their lives. After all, he made that clear the night before she left
for college. But four years later, her brother is getting married and Colt’s
the best man—and guess who is the best man’s last-minute date?
Milo vows to use the wedding to either claim the smoldering
firefighter’s heart or douse this torch for good. When Max—her best friend from
college, who may be carrying a torch of his own—crashes the party, they devise
a plan to make Colt see what he’s missing. But after Colt catches on, he
decides to cook up his own revenge.
Now it’s personal. Colt and Milo are at war, and between
Max’s questionable acting methods, an unfortunate trip to jail, and a maniacal
fiancée, what could possibly go right?

“What the hell is wrong with you?” Max gave me a tender shove. “We were fine until you started stepping on my foot and elbowing me!”

“You were hitting on my mom!”

“She’s a beautiful lady!” he argued.

“Oh, my gosh.” I fell into one of the chairs and moaned. “This is a catastrophe.”

“Not true.” Max shook his head. “You just have to be more believable. I mean, would it kill you to find me screw-worthy?”

“Screw-worthy? What does that even mean?”

“That’s it.” Max grabbed my hand and pulled me down the hall. “Where’s the bathroom?”

“Uh . . .” I pointed.

With a jerk he had me in the bathroom under the stairs and closed the door. Words and sounds were coming out of his mouth but I couldn’t make anything out. Max pushed me against the door and pointed his finger in my face. “I’m going to kiss you, damn it, and you’re going to like it. And I’m going to take off my shirt and you’re going to manhandle me, and you’re going to stop being so damn nervous or so help me God I’m going to bend you over that sofa in the living room and spank your sexy ass.”

Shocked, I was paralyzed in place. “Where did that come from?”

“Inside.” Max looked at me and smirked. “I have lots of feelings and I’m sick and tired of you looking at me like I don’t have a penis. I may be used to your innocence but for my own pride at least try to be attracted to me. Now close your damn eyes.”

“Stop cursing at me.”

“Stop being difficult! I’m trying to help you. And stop squirming. Shit, take a Xanax or something.”

“Max.” I closed my eyes and huffed. “This isn’t going to—”

My hand was on something hard.

I blinked my eyes open.

Since when did he have a six-pack?

I tilted my head, you know, to get a better look. His skin was really smooth but bumpy, each muscle defined so much that there was enough of a ridge for my hands to play with.

“Oh, look, he’s a man after all,” Max said, sounding bored. “I’m not your sexless friend. I’m not your damn brother. I’m not your gay friend. And I sure as hell am not thinking about anything right now except that your hands feel really good against my skin. So I’m going to kiss you, and you’re going to respond like the idea of my mouth on yours doesn’t make you want to cry—and you’ll like it.”

“I’ll like it,” I repeated.

“There’s my girl.” His eyes flashed, and then he was kissing me again, only this time his body was on fire as it pressed against me. I felt every ridge of his abs; the length of his body was beyond devastating.

Since P.A. DePaul first sounded out the words “See Spot run” and “See Jane walk,” she was hooked. Couple that with weekly trips to the library where she usually tried to get the maximum amount of books allowed, and watching both parents get lost in a book, you would think she’d get a clue that writing might be something she should investigate. But sadly, no. (She’s a little slow on the uptake.)

After years of escaping into fantastical worlds in books, P.A. DePaul started to get an inkling in the back of her mind that she could probably create something fun too. But again, as she was slow to move on to anything concrete, the idea just continued to fester until she picked up J.R. Ward’s compendium, The Black Dagger Brotherhood: An Insider’s Guide. Eureka! The three-way bulb in her brain finally clicked higher than the dim-watt. When she finished reading the “Advice and FAQs” section, her hands shook and her palms got sweaty. After she blinked away the lightheaded feeling, she thought to herself, “I can do this. I’ve read enough books to know what’s out there and what’s popular. I’m gonna give it a try.” Then she sat in front of her computer, chin in her hand, and drummed her fingers. What to write about? Even though she loved reading about vampires, werewolves, shape-shifters, and witches, she realized she had nothing new to offer. Frustrated, but not daunted, she went to bed and woke up the next morning with an idea; a concept that refused to go away. A couple of failed manuscripts and storylines later, she finally got it right. (Though, in her mind, those first couple of manuscripts weren’t failures. They were learning tools to help her hone her writing and learn how to construct a storyline. Some of the characters you’ll come to love in the Guardian Security and Investigations series started in those original pages and she just couldn’t part with them. Don’t be surprised if one day, she dusts one of those off and works it so they’ll finally be in print.)

Knowing she had a novel worth fighting for, she joined the Romance Writers of America (RWA) and entered it in four contests. She won third place in Utah Chapter’s Heart of the West Contest! Woohoo! Confirmation she was on to something.

P.A. DePaul originally hails from Carroll County and Baltimore County, Maryland, but also lived in Macon and Warner Robins, Georgia. She currently resides in a beautiful community just outside Philadelphia.

When her head is not completely absorbed with listening to her very demanding Guardians tell their stories, she can be found with her head in a book—not only enjoying the story but studying what makes the novel work for her or not. She loves action-adventure movies (if it blows up spectacularly, she’s there) and watching way too much TV. (Can everybody say “Procrastination?” To which she usually replies, “But it’s research!” Yeah, they don’t believe her either.). Her husband and three-year-old Shi Tzu, Montgomery, sometimes stand outside her closed office door and wonder, “Is she still alive? Do we dare bother her? What if she’s on a roll?” Monty usually answers by scratching on the wood anyway. Gotta love a dog who doesn’t care about boundaries!
